Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This policy explains what information M E L M O R Y ™ collects when you browse melmory.in, sign in, or place an order, and what we do with it. It applies to the storefront, your account, and every order placed through it.
2. Information we collect
Account & sign-in
You can sign in with your Google account or with a WhatsApp one-time code. Signing in with Google (via Firebase Authentication) shares your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account with us - we never see or store your Google password. Because Google doesn't share a verified phone number, we separately ask you to add and verify one (by WhatsApp OTP) so we can reach you about your orders.
Order & contact details
When you place an order, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and shipping/billing address - everything needed to get your saree to you and keep you posted on the way.
Payment information
Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay, our payment processor. M E L M O R Y ™ never receives or stores your full card number, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials - Razorpay is PCI-DSS compliant and processes that information directly.
Device & usage data
Like most sites, we collect basic technical data (browser type, device, approximate location from IP, pages viewed) through cookies and similar technology. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set with your consent - see Cookies & tracking below.
3. How we use your information
- To process, pack, and ship your order, and to keep you updated on its status.
- To provide customer support and respond to questions about an order or a piece.
- To send order and account messages by email and WhatsApp (confirmations, dispatch, OTPs).
- To send marketing updates - new collections, restocked colourways, offers - only if you've opted in, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
6. Data security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers. Sign-in is passwordless - we never store a password for your account, which removes an entire category of credential-theft risk. Access to customer data inside M E L M O R Y ™ is limited to the people who need it to run the business.
7. Your rights & choices
- View, update, or add your phone number and other account details any time from your account.
- Turn marketing messages on or off from your account, or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email - it always works, no sign-in required.
- Change your cookie preferences at any time.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated personal data by writing to support@melmory.in - we'll action it once any orders in progress are complete and we've met our tax/record-keeping obligations.
8. Data retention
We keep order records for as long as Indian tax and consumer-protection law requires. Account information is kept for as long as your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
9. Children's privacy
melmory.in is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version - please check back from time to time.
