Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

This page sets out the terms on which M E L M O R Y ™ sells sarees and related pieces through melmory.in. By browsing the site, placing an order, or creating an account, you agree to these terms in full. If any part of them doesn't sit right with you, please write to us before ordering - we'd rather clear it up than have you second-guess a purchase.

M E L M O R Y ™ is a registered entity based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (GSTIN 33DTBPR7844J1Z9). These terms apply to every order placed on the storefront, regardless of where you're shipping to.

2. Products & pricing

Every piece listed on melmory.in is handpicked, and most are one of one - once a saree sells out, it isn't restocked in the same weave, colourway, or border. What you see in a listing is what exists; we don't hold back duplicate stock.

All listed prices are inclusive of GST. The number on the product page is the number you pay for the piece - there is no tax added at checkout.

Domestic orders (within India) ship free - shipping is never added at checkout.
International orders are quoted a shipping rate at checkout, calculated dynamically by destination and parcel weight. This is shown before payment, never added afterward.

3. Orders & payments

Payments are processed through Razorpay. An order is confirmed only once payment has been successfully captured - a piece is not reserved for you while a payment is pending or has failed. Because most pieces are one of one, we're not able to hold, backorder, or substitute an item that sells out to another buyer while your payment was in progress.

4. Shipping

Orders are processed and dispatched from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Domestic shipping is free and typically takes 3-7 business days after dispatch; international shipping is quoted at checkout and typically takes 10-20 business days. 5. Colour & fabric variance

Every saree is photographed in natural daylight, but screens render colour differently - the shade you see may vary slightly from the piece in hand. Handwoven and hand-dyed fabric also carries natural, expected variation: minor differences in shade between batches, small irregularities in zari or motif placement, and subtle texture variation from one length to the next. These are the marks of a handmade piece, not manufacturing defects, and are not grounds for a return under our Refunds Policy.

6. Intellectual property

All photography, product descriptions, the M E L M O R Y ™ name and mark, and the site's design belong to M E L M O R Y ™. None of it may be copied, reproduced, or reused commercially without our written permission.

7. Limitation of liability

We take real care in how pieces are packed and dispatched, but we aren't liable for delays caused by couriers, customs authorities, or events outside our reasonable control (including natural events, strikes, or regulatory action). Our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the value of that order.

8. Governing law & jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to an order or these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as our processes evolve. The version in force on the date you place an order is the one that applies to it. We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever it changes.
